R&B Singers Become Reality Show Stars
So R&B reality shows seem to be in vogue right now. We’ve previously mentioned Ray J’s search for love, and then Chilli’s search for love, and then Tiny and Toya’s search for… meaning in their life? Well, now we’ve got further additions from R&B singers including shows featuring Monica, Fantasia and Kandi Burruss.
What will these shows be about?
First, Monica will be on a show on BET where she introduces the world to her music/recording process, as well as to her family life.
Fantasia Barrino, well acquainted with reality television after her appearance on the show American Idol, will be returning in 2010 with her own VH1 reality series in which she allows viewers into her personal life.
Kandi Burruss of Xscape is following in Tiny’s footsteps, appearing in the BRAVO series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Honestly, I find all these reality shows kind of silly. If these artists want to let people into their personal lives, maybe we can make an MTV Cribs spin off. In the new series, called MTV Life, R&B singers will give camera crews a tour of their life. That way, we don’t need full series, just hour episodes of each singer haha.
