Usher’s Monster Album - Confessions Part 2?
Usher’s tremendously successful Confessions album seemed built around his break-up with Rozonda Thomas, Chilli of TLC. The influence was especially seen on “Burn” which was built around his break-up with Chilli.
With Usher’s Monster album being released so shortly after his divorce with Tameka Foster Raymond, it’s likely that the new album will have similar influences. Producer Sean Garrett confirmed one such track, tentatively titled “Filing Papers,” that sounds like it will be the Tameka Foster version of “Burn.”
Describing the track, Garrett said “It’s not particularly called ‘Filing Papers. Let’s say I wrote a record for Usher three or four months ago where I really didn’t have any idea of what he was going through personally. I felt that was the question everyone wanted to know: Was [his relationship] good or was it bad? Was it right? Are you happy or you’re not?”
Garrett has reportedly done three tracks thus far for the new album with Usher and plans on doing another three before the LP is fully wrapped up.
Overall, this could be really awesome. I loved Confessions and to see Usher put out more heartfelt personal music could be a great thing to see. What do you guys think?
